Garden artwork in the English landscape style

The centrally located health resort park is the ideal place to explore and linger.

Historic health resort park

Famous garden architect Heinrich Siesmayer created the basis of the historic health resort park in Bad Nauheim with a pencil sketch. In keeping with the English landscape style, you will find old trees, dense shrubbery, airy open spaces, idyllic ponds and botanical rarities. The town's green lung continues to captivate numerous visitors and spa guests to this day.

Heinrich Siesmayer and his company Gebrüder Siesmayer built the health resort park in the style of an English landscape park from 1857 to 1862. Even after its completion, he still came to “his health resort park” every Saturday to make sure everything was as it should be.

Old trees, dense bushes, airy open spaces and idyllic ponds make the park a place where you can always discover something new. The visual axes to the Sprudelhof (fountain courtyard) are remarkable, perfectly integrating the green space into the townscape. Today it is also the “green lung” of the spa town and is popular for walks, sports and recreation. Characteristic of the health resort park are the benches with their red and white striped canopies, which invite you to enjoy a break in the shade in summer.

Heinrich Siesmayer, *1817 - 1900
"It is one of my greatest achievements in almost fifty years of self-employment."

These are the words used by Heinrich Siesmayer to describe his work. The garden architect, who is very likely also known to many as the founder of the Palmengarten in Frankfurt am Main. In 1908, a quartzite boulder found during excavation work for the new baths in the Sprudelhof was dedicated to the great creator of the spa gardens. On the 100th anniversary of his death in 2000, the stone was supplemented with a bust of Siesmayer by Bad Nauheim artist Gerhard Burk. If you are interested in seeing the creator for yourself, you will find the “Siesmayer Stone” in the health resort park on the main path between the Kurhaus and Sprudelhof.

Top 3 activities in the health resort park

A leisurely stroll along winding paths will take you to the Great Pond. We recommend a ride on a rowing boat or pedalo  this is the best way to explore the lake, which is home to many water birds.

Mini golf, chess and boules

The whole family can put their skills to the test on the mini-golf course in the health resort park. A game of chess with oversized pieces is a challenge for mental athletes, and boules lovers can also pursue their hobby in the park.

The wooden sun deck offers a lovely view over the Great Pond. The spot is also ideal for sunbathing and relaxing.
