Fashion, music and dance like in the old days and one of Hesse's most beautiful arts and crafts markets - experience the Belle Époque at the Art Nouveau Festival in Bad Nauheim. The next festival will take place on 12 and 13 September 2025 at the Trinkkuranlage (drinking cure salon).
Men in tailcoats and top hats, women in elegant gowns, surrounded by beautiful Art Nouveau architecture – the golden age of the Belle Époque is celebrated in Bad Nauheim. The Art Nouveau Festival attracts people from all over Germany. Highlights include the historic bicycles and penny-farthings that can be admired and tried out, as well as the dance and music performances that bring the festival grounds to life.
Marvel at the extensive Art Nouveau craftsmanship at the large artisans' and restorers' market, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday. Here you will find unique paintings, beautiful jewellery and handcrafted pieces made of ceramics, glass and fabric from the glamorous period around 1900. Sunday shopping on the festival weekend is also popular.
The Art Nouveau Festival also includes the Open Monument Day, which takes place every year on the second Sunday in September and is organised throughout Germany. During this cultural event, a wide variety of heritage sites open their doors and allow visitors to take a look behind the scenes of places that are otherwise usually inaccessible. In Bad Nauheim, many institutions regularly take part, such as the historic windmill tower at the graduation towers IV and V, the synagogue, the Sprudelhof (fountain courtyard) and others.
