A rosy tradition

In the world's first museum on the art and cultural history of the rose, you can learn all about the queen of flowers.

Rose Museum Steinfurth

It is the most beautiful in the whole land of flowers - this is especially true in Bad Nauheim's district Steinfurth, Germany's oldest rose village. Here the rose has been cultivated for over 150 years and sent all over the world. The permanent exhibition "Rosige Zeiten" in the Rose Museum tells about this tradition, but also about the history of the rose in art and culture.

The museum invites its visitors to experience the rose in all its diversity. The fact that it does not have thorns but spines is probably known to many. It is a symbol of love and muse of the fine arts, but how exactly was the rose used as a medicinal plant? You can find the answers to this question in the exhibition of the Rose Museum and experience how a finished rose plant is created within two years. The Rose Village Steinfurth sends out around 2 million plants every year.  In addition, the museum offers its visitors various events and annually changing special exhibitions.

A special treat

In the museum café the rose cake awaits you, which you should not miss! The cake, lovingly decorated with rose petals, is a unique taste experience.

If you want to take a souvenir home with you, you will find pretty souvenirs all about roses in the museum shop: rose oil and rose water, handmade soaps, high-quality delicatessen made from Steinfurth rose petals such as rose tea, rose jam or rose secco, as well as scarves, bags, small pieces of jewellery and fine stationery with rose motifs.
