The five different trails are between 4 and 12 km long and offer unique views. If you would like to cover a little more distance, combine the paths with each other. But there are not only local paths: The pilgrim path "Lutherweg 1521" leads through Bad Nauheim. Hiking breaks are worthwhile, as there are nice places to stop and interesting sights along the way.
The hiking trails are marked by numerous signposts with the logo of the particular route. The signposts make the routes "untraceable". To guarantee an unforgettable hiking experience, the routes are checked every year.
At the edge of the Bad Nauheim suburbs, the Wetter river flows through extensive grassland and gardens. A varied natural landscape with magnificent panoramas, gentle hilly landscapes and the nature reserve of the Wisselsheim salt marshes invite you to discover the area on the circular trail.
The mineral springs belong to Bad Nauheim and made it to become what it is today, because the warm hydrochloric and carbonated water has characterized the whole history of the town from its origins until today. The various stations of salt production from the spring to the salt factory line the route.
Everything is under the sign of the rose. The plant of love and eternal youth can be admired in the show gardens of the rose farms and along the roadside. For each rose sponsorship, the initiative "1,100 Roses for 1,100 Years of Steinfurth" plants a new rose along the way.
The hut hiking trail circles the "Skiwiese" in a big loop. It leads past the huts, most of which are located along the path, which invite you to linger in the forest park. Interesting details about the origin of the huts are given on the information boards at the viewing temples.
Fantastic views of the eastern edge of the Taunus mountains, unique panoramas and orchard grassland characterise this trail. Many resting places make it possible to relax. Above all, the view from the Bad Nauheim local mountain "Johannisberg" of the health town from "above" is worthwhile.
On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the publication of the thesis in 2017, the two Lutheran sites of Wittenberg and Worms were connected by a signposted pilgrimage path about 400 km long. The section of the pilgrimage route Lutherweg 1521 starts in Bad Nauheim at the graduation building III. The path splits near Laubach and reunites again in Friedberg.
